$65 new at Amazon.com: item number 0393925021

Grades:

Exam grades are organized by your college ID number, which is different from your social security number. Your student ID number can be found on your tuition bill, among other places. If you really can't find your college ID number, contact the registrar. I have no other way of listing the grades.

The lecture outlines are in a format which makes them easy to print out and compare to your classroom notes. No images, tables, or other nonsense. Use the 'back to selections' link at the bottom of each page to get back to this one, or just use the 'back' button on your browser.

Keep in mind that these are outlines. They are pretty sketchy and are not intended to replace your notes or textbook. There are also no images - you can find lots of great images in your textbook. These outlines are only meant to keep you abreast on what we have covered during lecture.

Class Materials:

Course Syllabus (HTML) (doc) - Reading schedule, exam schedule, requirements, etc.
Textbook website - Prentice-Hall, the textbook publisher, maintains a decent website with lots of good stuff, organized by chapter.
How to take a lecture exam - We'll have these instructions on the screen while you take an exam.

Practice Exercises:

Practice Exam 1 - Your score on these practice exams will likely reflect what you'll receive on the real lecture exams. I've also got some studying suggestions on these pages. This exam covers Introduction to Earth Science, Geologic Time, Earthquakes, Minerals, and Plate Tectonics. Don't forget to bring a Number 2 pencil to each lecture exam!
Practice Exam 2 - Igneous rocks, volcanism, metamorphism & metamorphic rocks, weathering & erosion, soils, and sedimentary rocks.
Practice Exam 3 - Rivers & streams, groundwater, glaciers, oceans & shorelines, and eolian systems.
Virtual Mineral Quiz - Take a simple online mineral identification quiz.
Virtual Metamorphic Rock Quiz
- Take a simple online metamorphic rock identification quiz.
Age Dating Exercise
- An interactive exercise in which you learn more about absolute age dating.
Geological Time Scale Test - Test your knowledge of the Geologic Time Scale by filling in the blanks.
